Hi Beth, saw your recipe over at Angelo's. Have a similar recipe that was my Mother's but originally I believe was one by Betty Crocker. The difference is that it used a combination of white granulated sugar and lightly packed brown sugar and was titled Chocolate Chip Cookies. With the chocolate coating and chopped peanuts these certainly do sound just as delish! I'll definitely try them sometime. Thanks so much for sharing. -Brenda-
Your comment made me chuckle. The cookie dough is indeed very similar to a basic chocolate chip cookie dough, sans the chocolate chips. The brown sugar gives these a nice toffee-ish, slightly butterscotch-y flavor. I was going to make actual sugar cones, just in the shape of a cookie, but that felt too literal. This cookie option is more ... cookie-ish.
